
The 39th edition of the Garment Technology Expo (GTE 2026)
concluded successfully at the India Expo Centre & Mart, reaf
f
irming its position as South Asia’s leading platform for garment
manufacturing technology. The four-day exhibition attracted more
than 18,900 B2B visitors and featured over 200 exhibitors repre
senting 650+ brands, spread across an exhibition area of 1,40,000
square feet. The strong participation highlighted the growing
interest among garment manufacturers and exporters in adopting
advanced technologies to improve productivity and efficiency.
The expo brought together the entire garment manufacturing
ecosystem under one roof, showcasing a wide range of
technologies including advanced sewing and cutting machinery,
automation systems, CAD/CAM solutions, digital textile printing
technologies, finishing equipment, trims, accessories and other
next-generation manufacturing innovations. Many returning
exhibitors expanded their booth space compared to previous
editions, reflecting increased confidence in the platform and the
expanding demand for modern production solutions in India’s
garment sector.The event was inaugurated in the presence of
several prominent industry leaders. These included Inderjit Singh
Sahni, Chairman and Managing Director of GTE; Rakesh Kumar,
Chairman of India Exposition Mart Limited; HKL Magu, Board of
Governor at Apparel Export Cluster and Managing Director of
Jyoti Apparels; Lalit Thukral, President of the Noida Apparel
Export Cluster; and Rakshit Poddar, President of the Garment
Exporters Association of Rajasthan. The dignitaries emphasized
the importance of innovation, collaboration and technology
adoption in strengthening India’s global competitiveness in
apparel manufacturing. One of the major highlights of GTE 2026
was the extensive showcase of AI-powered automation
technologies, which are increasingly being viewed as the next transformative force in garment production. Technology
providers, particularly from China, presented advanced machinery
for apparel and knitting production, smart factory systems and
intelligent automation solutions. These technologies
demonstrated how manufacturers can achieve greater precision,
higher productivity and improved operational efficiency. The
solutions also attracted strong interest from industry players
seeking to modernize their factories and train machine operators
in line with evolving technological standards.
Gyan Prakash Mittal from the Apparel Export Promotion Council
(AEPC), Rajasthan, described the exhibition as a pioneering
platform for showcasing the latest industry technologies.
According to him, the expo has become a must-attend event for
garment manufacturers and exporters looking to explore
innovations that can enhance business competitiveness.
The exhibition also received support from the Ministry of Textiles
and was approved under the MSME framework, enabling micro,
small and medium enterprises to access opportunities for
technology adoption, networking and business growth.
Adding a knowledge-driven dimension to the event, experts from
the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) presented
insights on emerging trends in apparel production. Professor
Ujjwal Ankur noted that GTE provides an important platform for
industry-academia collaboration and offers valuable exposure to
students. With strong participation, active buyer-seller
engagement and live machinery demonstrations throughout the
exhibition, GTE 2026 concluded as a major success. The
organisers are now preparing for the 40th edition of the Garment
Technology Expo, scheduled to be held in Bengaluru from
September 18–20, 2026, promising an even larger and more
advanced platform for the industry.
