Kornit acquires PrintFactory and launches the Atlas Matrix

At its recent Konnections 2026 event held in Hollywood,
Florida, Kornit Digital unveiled the new Atlas Matrix uni
fied digital production system and simultaneously announced
the aquisition of PrintFactory, a Netherlands-based technology
leader in cloud-native workflow, colour management and produc
tion automation software.
The Matrix is designed to deliver true demand-driven
manufacturing with complete flexibility across cotton, polyester
and blended fabrics, with no compromise on quality, durability
or efficiency. At its core is Kornit’s proprietary Karbon Shield
technology, a protection layer which prevents dye migration even
on the most challenging deep-dyed and sublimated polyester
fabrics.
Karbon Shield enables consistent, vibrant and durable results in
a single-step process, without complex setups or manual
intervention, while maintaining a soft hand feel of fabrics that
meets the highest retail standards.
The system supports both direct printing using Karbon Shield
and transfer on film using Karbon Transfer, with full consistency
between decoration methods.
“For years the industry has been constrained by trade-offs, but
that is finally changing,” says Kornit CEO Ronen Samuel.
“Screen printing can deliver strong results on polyester, but
requires long setup times and multiple process steps, with
additional costs to control dye migration and maintain
consistency. Digital solutions, including earlier generations such
as Atlas Max Poly, meaningfully expanded the boundaries of
what’s possible, but performance on polyester still depended on
fabric type, process tuning and operational complexity. Atlas
Matrix removes these limitations entirely and firmly positions
digital as the new standard for apparel production.”
Today, the global screen-printing market represents
approximately 14 billion impressions annually, with nearly six
billion impressions in run lengths below 1,000 units – segments
where agility, speed and flexibility are critical. Notably, about
30% of this volume includes polyester and blended materials
which demand increasingly higher performance and quality
standards. Atlas Matrix is engineered to unlock this opportunity
at scale.
By integrating PrintFactory’s automation capabilities into its
platform meanwhile, Kornit is strengthening its ability to connect
production workflow and fulfilment into a single continuous
digital ecosystem.
While the demand for digital production continues to accelerate,
many large producers still face significant operational barriers
when transitioning from traditional production processes,
including managing complex workflows, the need to coordinate
multiple technologies, streamlining connectivity within IT
environments and overcoming the challenge of maintaining
consistent production output across different production lines.
PrintFactory’s technology addresses these gaps.
Its platform enables unified production workflow management
and consistent output across mixed technology environments,
allowing producers to operate with predictable results
regardless of the technologies deployed on the production floor.
By simplifying the transition to digital production, the acquisition
supports Kornit’s strategy to penetrate the massive screen
printing market and unlock significant growth opportunities.
