UNIFI Inc., maker of REPREVE recycled yarns, has in
troduced Luxel, a new yarn technology designed to
replicate the natural look and feel of linen while deliver
ing enhanced performance and sustainability features.
Luxel is produced using REPREVE recycled polyester yarn,
including 30 percent REPREVE Takeback content. The
Takeback program incorporates textile waste into new
fibers, supporting textile-to-textile recycling and
reinforcing the company’s circularity strategy.
This innovative yarn combines aesthetic appeal with
functional benefits, and offers moisture-wicking, wrinkle
resistance and odor control. These performance
attributes are engineered directly into the yarn, enabling
use across a wide range of fabric constructions.
According to Eddie Ingle, CEO of Unifi, Luxel was
developed to provide designers and manufacturers with
a yarn that delivers the premium tactile qualities of linen
while improving durability, ease of care and sustainability
performance. By combining recycled inputs with
engineered functionality, the company aims to help
brands meet consumer demand for materials that
balance comfort, style and environmental responsibility.
